A New Frying Pan

April 6, 2015 by Mia Staysko

On a round-about search for a patio furniture place the other day, my friend Karen and I ended up near Crown Restaurant Equipment. I’ve had a few things on my list for quite a while and since we were close I pulled in. I found a few squeeze bottles for homemade mayonnaise or barbecue sauce as well as this great professional Thermalloy stainless steel frying pan.

Pan

After checking out the free trial of Rouxbe and learning how to properly preheat my stainless steel pans so that food doesn’t stick to them, I’ve been using stainless more than ever. I would really like to move away from teflon as much as possible and with the combination of my trusty cast iron pans and my stainless steel options I’m almost there. (Now if I could just manage to get my eggs not to stick…)

I had been thinking of buying another All-clad pan but at $35 for this one, versus around a hundred bucks for the All-clad, I’m pretty stoked about this purchase! It’s got a nice heavy bottom and at 9.5″ should be perfect for cooking just a few portions.

I can’t wait to try it out.
